About LISC Jacksonville
LISC Jacksonville opened its doors in 1999 through the efforts of the Jaguars Foundation, the Jessie Ball duPont Fund and the Community Foundation. Those groups met with Jacksonville Mayor John Delaney in 1998 to encourage the City to bring LISC to Jacksonville.
LISC Jacksonville Vision
As the Jacksonville community works to revitalize neighborhoods with both vibrant residential and commercial development, LISC Jacksonville adds valued resources, skilled practitioners and knowledgeable advocates to the community development initiatives of our nonprofit partners.
EPIC Communities
Empowering People Inspiring Change in Jacksonville’s underserved communities is the focus of EPIC Communities. This pilot program will work within Jacksonville’s Eastside and Northside urban centers to utilize LISC Jacksonville’s investment to improve the quality of life in these areas. Residents will be involved in a comprehensive approach to redevelopment that begins with their input and prioritizes their concerns.
Building EPIC Communities focused on five targeted and integrated goals:
- Expanding investment in housing and other real estate
- Increasing family income and wealth
- Stimulating economic development
- Improving access to quality education
- Supporting healthy environments and lifestyles
The Jessie Ball duPont Fund and The Community Foundation, two organizations that were instrumental in bringing LISC to Jacksonville have contributed $900,000 and challenged Jacksonville to raise an additional $2 million in grants to ensure this program’s success.
