Riverside Avondale Development Organization (RADO) has seen the resurgence in the Riverside Avondale community over the last decade and strives to correct areas of blight and distress while maintaining income integration for the community. RADO's Riverside focus has been north of College Street to I-10 and Five Points to Cherry Street. Recently, in partnership with NRCDC, RADO has begun revitalization efforts in North Riverside (North of 1-10) in recognition that happens north of the freeway effects the economy south of the freeway.
The city of Jacksonville has recently donated to RADO the old Green House site on Green Street in Riverside. RADO plans to build 12 homes for sale that will be “green” certified. Construction is slated to begin in Spring 2007.
