Operation New Hope was founded in 1999 to provide people in recovery from substance abuse, who were either homeless or at risk of being homeless, an opportunity to develop construction trade skills and experiences. This combined with the vision to purchase and rehabilitate historic homes in the Springfield Historic District led to ONH's success. They have completed the rehabilitation or construction of 25 houses in the Springfield and Lower Eastside neighborhoods and have developed a Ready for Work job training program for ex-offenders. ONH currently owns 15 lots and is in construction on four homes in Springfield.
